The 2018 Second Round of Team Training Program (TTP) was held at the Menelik II College of Medicine and Health Sciences
Opening the program, the college’s Executive Director Advisor, Ato Tsebu Chernet, said that the outstanding performance of the prospective graduate students during their six-week field stay and the tangible changes they brought to the community and various public institutions were significant. He added that the college is a platform where we have clearly seen the actions of the prospective graduate students in identifying problems and finding solutions to support the courses they teach in theory in practice. He added that for this great success, he thanked the students who worked hard day and night, the college’s teachers and staff who provided professional supervision and academic support, and all the stakeholders in the health sector, various sub-districts and all the stakeholders in the health sector, on behalf of the college.
The Director of Research, Clinical and Community Services at the college, Dr. Peykepe W/Selasse, commended the graduating students for their professional contributions to the Team Training Program, which involves conducting scientific surveys in the community, identifying and prioritizing critical health problems in the area, and developing practical and practical projects.
All the projects presented emphasized teamwork and problem-solving skills; the teams discussed the issues presented, the strategies they used, and the results of their solutions. The program will support the ongoing efforts of the Addis Ababa City Administration to develop a qualified workforce that can contribute to the development of health services, as well as demonstrating comprehensive health improvement efforts and suggesting solutions.
Finally, the day's program was closed by the college's Academic Director, Dr. Dereje Derbew, who explained the contribution of the projects developed by the graduating students to the comprehensive health improvement work initiated and ongoing by the city administration. He explained that the college will continue to strengthen its national mission of producing qualified health professionals who will support the local community and government institutions by linking medical knowledge with practical public service. He also indicated that in the future, the Team Training Program will be further strengthened and will work in the community areas bordering Addis Ababa city.
